Maponya Mall's festive stocking will overflow this holiday season
with entertainment for the whole family!
In December every year people start with the preparations for the grand celebration. The fabulous Maponya Mall is pulling out all the stops for family Christmas festivities never seen in Soweto on such a grand scale before.
There's something for the whole family and daily entertainment and fun for the children.
The focal point of the festivities will be a giant Christmas tree in the centre of Maponya Mall with a 2m star at the top. Father Christmas will be at the centre from November 29 to December 24 and children will have the opportunity to have their picture taken with him.
A children's play area will be in operation at Maponya Mall from December 10 to 23 where children will be entertained leaving their parents free to shop up a storm. And the adults certainly will be kept busy as Maponya Mall features a plethora of world class stores including Kurt Geiger, A & D Spitz, Guess, Private Sale, Camper and GEOX. There's something for all tastes and budgets at this Soweto mega-mall.
This safe and colourful playpen enclosure, situated in the Food Court at Maponya Mall, has a circus theme
and activities throughout the day to keep children enthralled.
These include:
- CIRCUS SCHOOL: Trained professionals will come and show youngsters the tricks of the trade. The circus school includes walking a mini tight-rope, balancing on the rola-bola as well as learning how to juggle, do a few magic tricks and balloon twisting.
- CIRCUS GAMES: Children will play a variety of individual as well as team-orientated games such as Pass The Parcel, Pin The Tail On The Elephant and Guess The Circus Animal? Prizes will be awarded.
- CREATIVE WORKSHOPS: Children will have the opportunity to show off their creative skills including painting an elephant statue, making a light switch decoration with elephant detail and a Christmas stocking.
- MONKEY MANIA PUZZLE FUN: A small activity area will be set up where youngsters can enjoy themselves completing a fun circus puzzle sheet. All colouring-in materials and puzzle sheets will be supplied.
- CRAZY CANDLES: Each child will make their own candle out of various colours of wax. Once their candle is complete a professional will carve it into an interesting shape.
- BIG TOP PRODUCTIONS: There is a fabulous line up of shows including magic, clown and puppet shows featuring some of the best entertainers in the industry.
- JUMPIN' JACK'S MOVIE HOUR: Pull up a comfy colourful beanbag and come and enjoy the latest and greatest children's movies and cartoons.
- THE CIRCUS SNACK BAR: Young chefs can decorate delicious elephant or Christmas tree biscuits with sweet treats and enjoy their masterpieces afterward. Younger children will have to be assisted by a parent but are welcome to participate.
- GIANT ELEPHANT BOARD GAME: Come and play with Sally the Clown on this giant floor board game.
- CIRCUS SAND ART: Children will have great fun creating a sand art picture. Each child will receive an A5 sand art kit.
