Underdog movie pulls out the stops for charity

The multi-award winning movie Slumdog Millionaire is a fable about empowerment, destiny and triumph so it is fitting that Ster-Kinekor Junction Maponya Mall and Maponya Mall Management will be holding a special charity screening of this cinematic sensation on Monday March 4th at 19h30 in the run-up to its nationwide release on 6 March 2009.

Danny Boyle's uplifting indie film, about a Mumbai slum dweller that makes good, has already won 60 industry awards, including four Golden Globes and seven Baftas, and is in the running for 10 Oscars.

All proceeds from the Charity Screening will be donated to the Carl Sithole Othandweni Children's Home. Entry into this exclusive screening will require donations of non-perishable foods, toys and/or clothing.
